The property owners received a bill for 6 years retrospective consumption following a meter repair

The billof £137,000 was calculated on reverse straight line formula – We believed that this could be challenged.

watergeek initiated a consumption investigation – sub meters were installed on all tenants.

This revealed that a private fitness club with pool was responsible for 95% of the entire site’s consumption therefore their share of the bill was £130,000 approx.

The club was opened in 2011 and we tracked the monthly member visits from entry data.

The data reveals that the member visits were almost 20% higher in 2015/2014 than in 2011/12.

Evidentiary proof in commercial cases is ”balance of probability”

The bill was reduced by 25% to mitigate investigation and legal costs
